This paper reports on a study of the United States’“shale gas revolution”in terms of background, content, progress and impact. It is believed that the revolution occurred first in the United States because there are three basic condi-tions:in-depth scientific research and technological breakthroughs, governmental policy, rise in energy price. The development of shale gas in the U. S. gives China some inspiration. In addition to developing wind, solar and other renewable energy re-sources, China should vigorously increase the proportion of natural gas in the fossil fuels to replace coal. As well, the govern-ment is supposed to support financially technical research and projects in shale gas, to encourage foreign investors to shift their technology to China by offering shares, to attract foreigners to invest in China by preferential tax. Moreover, the government should provide services in converting and replacing energy sources and in connecting network, and to give some subsidies to the enterprise for the resulting cost thus caused.%本文对美国“页岩气革命”的背景、内容、进展及影响进行了研究。认为“页岩气革命”最先发生在美国，是因为其具备了三个基本条件：科研的深入与技术的突破；政府政策的支持；能源价格的上涨。美国的页岩气开发给予中国一定的启示。中国在大力发展风能、太阳能等可再生能源外，也可增大天然气在化石能源中的比重，以替代煤炭。论文建议政府在页岩气开采技术的研发项目上给予资金支持；以技术折股方式鼓励外国投资者向中国转移开采技术；以税收优惠的条件吸引国外投资者来华投资；政府应在企业能源转换与替代、并网方面做好协调与服务工作，并对企业由此产生的成本给予一定的补贴。
