董仲舒治《诗》贵志重德，以诗证事、以诗证志，以阐发其政治思想为指归，赋予诗以哲学意蕴。提出诗书序其志、诗颂显德、以诗为法、诗无达诂等观念，这对后来诗义的理解产生很大影响。其诗观念体现其治经的方法论，并以此为其传播儒家思想、巩固皇权政治寻找理论根据。%In the study ofThe Book of Songs,Dong Zhongshu attached importance to ideal and virtue, holding the ideas of discussing things and expounding ideals by poetry, taking the elucidation of one’s political thought for purpose and endowing poetry with philosophical meaning. He put forward the ideas that poetry could elaborate one’s ideal, eulogize one’s great virtue, be taken as an example and that there were no common interpretations of poetry, and this greatly influenced the later understanding of poetry. His ideas of poetry reflected his methodology of studying the classics and he took these ideas as his theoretical basis for spreading Confucian thoughts and consolidating the imperial politics.
