The native place of the three brothers, Zhang Shenfu, Zhang Chongnian and Zhang Dainian, is in Xiao Duo Zhuang village, Du Sheng town, Cang County, Hebei Province. The three brothers Zhang are influential characters in modern history of China. They strived for the ideal of serving China through academic research whole life long. Each made great contribution in their own field. Through theanalysis of their researches we see that they influence each other in their academic thoughts and careers. Zhang Shenfu's academic scope can be concluded as that he was well-versed in the learning of both ancient and modern times, accepted the learning from both China and the West and carried on researches in both science and arts. And Zhang Chongnian continued his study in science while Zhang Dainian in arts.
