Primarily seen as a literary movement centering in Harlem,the Harlem Renaissance witnessed the flowering of black literature.Black literature during the renaissance achieved unprecedented success unknown in pre-renaissance years,in terms of the volume and quality of literary works created by black writers and published by white mainstream publishers as well as in terms of the relationship between black writers and major white publishers in the age of white-controlled publishing industry.The flowering of renaissance literature resulted from a variety of economic,political,and cultural events happening in early 20th century America.There were three most direct factors,among others,namely the enormous efforts made by the older black intellectuals to promote the creative endeavors and careers of young black writers in the age of Negro Vogue,insistence on the part of the young black writers on their rights to freedom of literary expressions,and the black literary tradition,which contributed significantly to the blossoming of renaissance literature.%哈莱姆文艺复兴时期美国黑人文学空前繁荣,哈莱姆文学运动兴起并兴盛一时,黑人作家打开了白人主流出版社的大门,与其时的主要白人出版商的关系也有了重大突破.复兴期间黑人文学的繁荣是20世纪初美国社会多种经济、政治、文化因素合力作用的产物.而老一辈黑人知识分子利用当时主流社会盛行的"黑人时尚"的有利时机全力培育和提携年轻"新黑人"作家,加之年轻黑人作家勇于追求自身文学创作的独立和自由,则是黑人文学在其文学传统的滋养中成长和发展、在复兴时期达到空前繁荣的最直接成因.
