Awakening of the Chinese national consciousness began since modern times. First Sino-Japanese War is an important event in this process. The Sino Japanese war had caused a national disaster for China and the col-lapse of the traditional concept of Yi-Xia in China. So it greatly promoted the awakening of the Chinese national consciousness.
