According to the data on 26 variables of 8 major cities in Jilin province,4 chief elements of city competitiveness is observed by using the principal component analysis method( PCA ). They are economic competitiveness,competitiveness of government,competitiveness of city life,competitiveness of technology and education. And then an evaluation index system of city competitiveness is set up. On the basis of component matrix and the scores from PCA,the judgment matrices are constructed through combining quantitative analysis and qualitative calculation in analytic hierarchy process ( AHP ). The 4 chief elements ranking and comprehensive ranking of 8 cities are obtained. Lastly the advantages and disadvantages of the cities are studied behind the ranking which provide reference of urban development.%根据吉林省8个主要城市的26个变量数据，运用主成分分析法得到城市竞争力的4个主要构成因素：经济竞争力、政府竞争力、城市生活竞争力、科技教育竞争力。从而建立了城市竞争力的评价指标体系。利用层次分析法，定性分析和定量运算相结合，依照主成分分析法得到的成分矩阵和成分得分矩阵构造判断矩阵，得到8个城市的4个构成因素排名及综合排名。最后分析排名背后的各城市的优势和劣势，为制定城市发展规划提供依据。
