From 1962 to 1973, a series of confrontations happened in Eastern Mediterranean between Former Soviet Union and the U-nited States, showing us approaches, measures and competitions of super powers in dealing with their overall strategic interests. During the eleven years, the Soviet Union, as an international hegemonic challenger, had been actively trying to find breakthrough against re-strictions from the United States in Eastern Mediterranean, in respect of armament, deterrence and diplomacy which led to great achievements or gloomy failures.
