高职英语教师在对非英语专业学生进行英语教学时，除了英语知识内容的传授，也不能忽视英语学习动机的激发。要激发高职学生的英语学习兴趣，既要从内因，包括满足学生的学习需求、尊重个人兴趣、明确学习内容、正确设立学习目标、合理利用榜样力量、建立和谐的师生关系等方面进行着手；也要从改善外因，包括创设教学环境，加强硬环境与软环境建设等方面进行着手。%W hile English teachers in higher vocational colleges teach non-English m ajor students, they need to not only teach English know ledge itself but also inspire the students' learning m otivation. In order to inspire higher vocational students' English learning interest, it should im prove the internal cause, including the m eet of students' needs, the respect of their interest, the definition of learning content, the correct setting of study objectives, the reasonable use of exam ples, and the establishm ent of harm onious relationship betw een teachers and students. It should also im prove the external cause, including the set of teaching environm ent, and the enforcem ent of hard environm ent and soft environm ent.
