Therefore, Coetzee, through his profound and sharp writing, expressed his anger and worry to the constant destruction of our ecological environment as well as his compassion and concern for the fate of all living species in his series of postcolonial works. As one of the literary cannons of Postcolonial Zoocritical writing, The Lives of Ani-mals, through criticizing mankind's speciesism hegemony towards animals which bases on the doctrines of western rational-ity, exposing mankind's savage carnivory hegemony towards animals as well as displaying Coetzee's pain brought by the fact that animal's lives and rights are trampled, contains Coetzee's ecological ethics of being against human being's hegemony on animals and respecting all forms of lives.
