Eight compounds were isolated from ethyl acetate fraction of volume fraction 80% ethanol extracts in whole plant of Hypericum sampsonii Hance. They are benzoic acid (Ⅰ), β-sitosterol (Ⅱ), 1,7-dihydroxyxanthone (Ⅲ), 1,3-dihydroxy-5-methoxyxanthone (Ⅳ), 1,3,6,7-tetrahydroxyxanthone (Ⅴ), quercetin (Ⅵ), toxyloxanthone B (Ⅶ),Ⅰ3,Ⅱ8-biapigenin (Ⅷ) . In which, compound Ⅳ and Ⅷ are isolated from H. sampsonii for the first time.
