《云南南防调查报告》是民国元年云南军政府对云南南防驻兵情况的调查。该报告是军政府鉴于临安反正后，滇东南地区局势混乱，各属军营叛乱无常、军纪不严的情况下，为进一步了解该区局势所进行的调查，内容涉及军营建制装备、交通、地理环境、民族、教育、语言、生产生活等方面。由于种种原因，该报告至今湮没无闻。通过初步考订调查时间及人员，并探讨南防调查的原委及调查内容，认为其是清末民初军政府对滇东南地区之军事、经济、文化、教育、民族进行的系统调查，是研究云南近代化的宝贵史料。%The Investigation Report on Southeast Frontier Defense of Yunnan is an investigation on station troops in southeast frontier of Yunnan made by Yunnan military government in the early years of the Republic of China. In order to know the situation in southeast frontier of Yunnan, the investigation concerning troops organization system, weapons, traffics, geographical environment, ethnic groups, education, languages, production, life and other things was made under the condition of regional chaos, random rebellions and slack troops discipline after the suppression of Lin’an rebellion. For various reasons, the report has never been known till present. The paper checks out investigation time and staff briefly, studies the reasons and contents of the investigation and thinks that it’s a systematic investigation on military, economy, culture, education and ethnic groups in southeast frontier of Yunnan, so it’s an invaluable material for studying the modernization in Yunnan.
