American presidential inaugural address is the speech delivered by the newly-elected president at home and abroad. The interpersonal function in presidential inaugural addresss let the common public to accept and support new president's ideas. Based on Halliday's Systemic-Functional Grammar, together with other scholars, such as Li Zhanzi's theory, the thesis analyses the interpersonal function of the chosen American presidential inaugural addresses from the perspectives of personal pronouns, evaluation words and modal operator. This research finds out how presidents achieve the purpose of the speeches by means of interpersonal function.%美国总统就职演说是新当选的美国总统向国内外发表的政治演说。就职演说的人际功能使民众接受并支持新总统的政见。文章运用韩礼德的系统功能语法理论，结合李战子等学者的理论，从人称代词、评价词和情态动词等三个方面来分析美国总统就职演说，了解这些总统如何通过人际功能来实现演讲的目的。
