Problems existed in the management of the optional courses at newly-built universities are too casual, disordered during the selecting process, poor teaching effects and so on. Based on cause analysis, the paper proposed the countermeasures to improve its management quality are raising the recognition of the impor-tance of optional courses, constructing optional courses’ quality ensuring system, reinforcing the guidance for students in selecting, strengthening the building of teaching management staff, etc.%新建本科院校在公共选修课管理中主要存在着学生选课随意性大、选课过程较混乱、教学效果差等方面的问题。在分析成因的基础上，提出要提高对公选课重要性的认识，构建公选课的质量保障体系，加强学生的选课指导工作和加强教学管理队伍的建设等对策。
