Theory courses are required curriculum to the students of the major of art and design in the universities, but they didn＇t get enough attention in most of universities. Besides, there are many problems such as ： students are not active in learning; they do not have enough attention to it; and the traditional testing methods are not qualified to achieve the purpose of testing their learning effect. This article aims to find more reasonable teaching methods by analyzing the problem from sevral aspects such as how to chang the methods of the teacher as the supervisor, how to make full use of the multimedia, how to let the students comprehend various design styles through their own design and how to change the traditional testing methods.%理论基础课是高校艺术设计专业的必修课程。在全国大部分高校中,这类课程却没有得到足够的重视,也没有达到应有的效果。同时,还存在诸如学生学习缺乏主动性、学生对理论课的重视程度不够、传统考试方式难以达到检验学习效果的目的等问题。要想改变这种状况,就必须对传统教学模式进行改革,改变以教师为主导的教学方式,充分发挥多媒体教学的优势,让学生通过自己的设计领悟各种设计风格,并改变传统的考试方式,以便找到一种更为合理的教学方法。
