根据纽马克的文本分析理论，以《白马湖之冬》英译为例，阐释了散文的文体特征、翻译原则及其翻译补偿策略。经论证，在散文中恰当地使用翻译补偿策略不仅能够准确传达原文语言之美，而且能够生动地展现其神韵之灵。%Based on Newmark’s Text Typology Theory ,this paper deals with the characteristics ,translating principles as well as translation compensation methods of prose translation through an analysis of prose W inter in W hite Horse L ake .It is found that if compensation strategies are employed appropriately ,not only can the beauty of the original be accurately con‐veyed ,but also can its spirit be vividly reproduced .
