FMEE has the excellent degreasing capacity, with superior dispersibility under the condition of low temperature (<40℃). FMEE can prevent fat from storing up in the rotary drum in the washing process effectively and avoid reverse staining of fat. Therefore, FMEE is suitable for degreasing on the surface and inside the leather, as well as impurity cleaning. This paper introduced the synthesis of nonionic detergent -fatty acid methyl ester ethoxylates (FMEE) as well as its application and advantage in degreasing process. This paper also discussed the process parameters of FMEE in leather degreasing process including wastewater treatment.
