The paper explores the omission in processing verb arguments in Chinese by mentally retarded children using a single picture description task.The findings suggest that both subject and object arguments may be omitted in mentally retarded children.These results support the interpreta-tion from lexicon,indicating that the verb argument representations are incomplete or inaccurate,and subjected to the number of arguments to some extent.This study also further infers that animateness may have an important influence on syntactic information representations of verb.%本文采用单幅图画描述任务考察了汉语智障儿童动词论元加工中的遗漏问题。结果发现智障儿童在无先行语境的情况下主语论元和宾语论元均存在遗漏。此发现支持词库解释,表明智障儿童的动词论元表征不完全或不精确,并一定程度上会受到论元数量的影响。研究还进一步推论,生命性因素对词库内动词的句法信息表征有重要影响。
