Glass forming ability is one of the most important factors for developing amorphous alloys. Based on the characteristics of apriori and posterior parameters, researches on glass forming ability can be classified to two aspects as description and prediction. The actualities and progresses of domestic and oversea researches on glass forming ability are reviewed. And the merits and demerits are disscussed respectively for all kinds of descnptional parameters and predictive methods for glass forming ability. It is pointed out that further revealing the mechanism of glass transition is the foundation for achieving higher veracity of description and prediction for amorphous forming ability.%玻璃形成能力是发展非晶合金的关键因素之一.根据先验性参数和后验性参数的特点,可将玻璃形成能力的研究分为表征与预测两个方面.综述了玻璃形成能力的表征与预测的研究现状和进展,分别讨论了各种玻璃形成能力的表征参数和预测方法的优劣,指出从更深层次探索玻璃转变的物理本质是提高表征和预测玻璃形成能力准确性的根本所在.
