Objective: To investigate the status of mental health of the community elderly in Guangzhou and explore the relationship between mental health and social support.Methods:229 Guangzhou community elderly aged 60 years and older were recruited by random sampling.They were assessed with the M-R part of Cornell Medical Index(CMI) and Social Support Rating Scale(SSRS).Results: The M-R average of the community elderly in Guangzhou was(3.50 ±0.51) and the overall mental health was in good condition,but 13.5 percent of elderly had some psychological problems .The total score of the social support was(37.99 ±10.79)and it's higher than the normal standard(P<0.05).The M-R scale scores were negatively correlated with social support scores(r=-0.071,P<0.05).Conclusions:Social support is an important factor af-fecting the mental health of the community elderly.The community stakeholders should take into account the role of social support systems impro-ving the mental health of the community elderly, broaden their existing channels of social support to improve their physical and mental health.%目的:分析广州市社区老年人心理健康状况及其与社会支持的关系.方法:采用康奈尔医学指数M-R量表和社会支持问卷对广州市229名60周岁及以上的社区老年人进行随机抽样调查.结果:广州市社区老年人M-R量表平均分为(3.50±0.51),总体心理健康状况良好,但仍有13.5%的社区老年人存在一定程度的心理问题;社区老年人社会支持总分为(37.99±10.79),高于全国常模(P<0.05);社区老年人M-R量表得分与社会支持评分呈负相关(r=-0.071,P<0.05).结论:社会支持是影响社区老年人心理健康的重要因素,社区相关人员应重视社会支持系统对提高社区老年人心理健康的作用,拓宽社区老年人社会支持渠道,以改善其身心健康.
