WiMAX (IEEE802.16) security technology is continuously improved with the development of computer network. In this paper, the security problems appearing in are discussed. The basic principle of the safety certification system and data encryption process of WiMAX technology are analyzed. On the basis of the analysis, the identity authentication security mechanism, data encryption technology and other core security technologies are investigated. The principles, security features and their merits of four identity authentications, as well as the principles of data encryption which adopts the symmetric key encryption technology (mainly refers to IDEA encryption) and asymmetric key encryption technology and their actual applicable scope are elaborated in detail. The safety precautions in computer settings are narrated simply.
