The key technology of constructing a modern logistics information platform based on GIS is the integration of data and the functions. According to the features of modern logistics delivery, the professional GIS map layers, database and function module of the information platform system were designed. The application of geographic information system in logistics is studied. The problems existing in traditional logistics process are analyzed. In combination with the development of GIS technology, establishment of logistics information platform based on GIS is a great help to the realization of the logistics process visualization and effective integration of logistics information, improvement of circulation efficiency, reduction of logistics cost, and development of modern logistics.
