Objective It is to observe the therapeutic efficacy of the elderly Bell ’ s palsy by acupuncture according to Yangming Theory .Methods 84 elderly patients with Bell ’ s palsy were divided into control group and treatment group with 42 cases in each .The patients in the treatment group were treated from Yangming Theory , the clinical acupuncture prescription were guided from the meridian , viscera, main and collateral channels , and emphasize on order of under acupuncture , the acu-point were selected as Sibai , Quanliao, Dicang, Yingxiang, Zhongwan, Tianshu, Zusanli, Hegu in healthy side;but the pa-tients in the control group were treated by conventional acupuncture , didn’ t chose Zhognwan , Tianshu and Zusanli , not ac-cording to the order of the needle .All the patients in the two groups were acupunctured once a day for six consecutive days , then one day off as a treatment course .The treatment duration was eight weeks .The changes of House -Brackmann ( H-B) and therapeutic efficacy were observed and compared between the both groups .Results After eight weeks’ treatment, the ther-apeutic efficacy of facial nerve function was significantly better than that before treatment in both groups (all P<0.05), and the improvement of the treatment group was better than that of the control group (P<0.05).The recovery rate and total effec-tive rate after treatment of the treatment group were markedly better than that of the control group (all P<0.05).Conclusion It is an effective treatment of acupuncture according to Yangming Theory to cure elderly Bell ’ s palsy.%目的：观察针灸从阳明论治老年周围性面神经麻痹的临床疗效。方法将84例老年周围性面神经麻痹患者随机分为治疗组和对照组各42例。治疗组从阳明论治，分别从经筋、经络、脏腑指导临床选穴组方，并强调下针顺序和出针留针时间，选用四白、颧髎、地仓、迎香、中脘、天枢、足三里、健侧合谷腧穴进行治疗；对照组则用常规针刺，不取中脘、天枢、足三里，不讲究下针顺序。2组均每天治疗1次，每周连续治疗6 d，休息1 d，共治疗8周。观察2组治疗前后House－Brackmann（H－B）面神经功能分级变化情况及临床疗效。结果2组治疗后H－B面神经功能分级均较治疗前明显改善（P均＜0．05），且治疗组改善情况明显优于对照组（P＜0．05）。治疗组的愈显率、总有效率均明显高于对照组（P均＜0．05）。结论针灸从阳明论治老年周围性面神经麻痹疗效确切。
