以马克思列宁主义、毛泽东思想为指导的新民主主义文化和社会主义文化，以邓小平理论为指导的社会主义精神文明，是不同历史时期中国共产党和中国人民一脉相承又不断发展的文化选择。这一文化选择首要地解决了文化的核心问题，历史地选择了马列主义，选择了中国化的马克思主义即毛泽东思想、邓小平理论。沿着马克思主义指引的方向，党和人民选择了一条正确的文化发展道路。按照江泽民同志提出的“三个代表”重要思想的要求，党和人民在新的历史至高点上进行着建设先进文化即有中国特色社会主义文化的选择。中国共产党文化选择八十年的历史，给人以许多深刻的启示。%The New democracy culture and socialist culture which guided bythe Marxism-Leninism and Mao Zedong Thought and the Socialist spiritual civilization which guided by Deng Xiaoping Theory were the continuous and developing cultural options by the CPC and Chinese people in different historical phases. The options have solved first of all the key problem of the culture, a historical option of Marxism-Leninism, Mao Zedong Thought and Deng Xiaoping Theory. So the CPC and Chinese people have followed a correct road of cultural development guided by Marxism-Leninism. In the new era, the CPC and Chinese people are establishing the advanced culture, i.e. the Socialist culture with Chinese characteristics, according to Jiang Zemin's important concept of “Three Representations”. The 80-year history of the CPC's cultural options is full of inspirations.
