On Yangbi's Translation of Vanity Fair from the Perspective of Translators' Subjectivity

摘要

Translation is the bridge between the source language and the target language, while the translator is the media through which all the expected equivalents are found, all the levels of the source texts, from specific lexical level to the whole style level are changed smoothly into target language, and thus makes translation possible. In this essay, the present author will mainly focus on some different versions of translation of Vanity Fair, and through comparison, some distinct superiority of Yangbi's version are shown. At last, the author tries to draw a conclusion that translators' subjectivity is a consequential element in translation process, translators' intuition of foreign language and good mastery of mother tongue are the guarantee of satisfactory translation.
