The proposal of new model of major-country relationship is the product of China's long-term thinking on relationship between China and the outside world since the Reform and Opening Up. It is not only the self-awareness and self-confidence of China, but also a preliminary answer to"where is China heading?". The core goal of the new major-country relationship is to pursue sustainable peace,and adhere-ing to practice-oriented to reconcile the tension between theory and reality.The practice over past five years has shown that the new major-country relationship satisfied with the dual requirements of purposiveness and rationality,and its necessity and possibility have been preliminarily verified. As a new thing which tran-scends the mainstream international relations theory of the west,it will certainly have a strong vitality.%"新型大国关系"的提出,是中国自改革开放以来长期思考中国与外部世界关系的产物.它既是中国关于自身角色的自觉与自信,也是对"中国向何处走"的初步回答.新型大国关系以追求可持续和平为核心目标,坚持以实践为导向来调和理论与现实之间的张力.近五年来的实践表明,新型大国关系满足合目的性与合理性的双重要求,而且其必要性与可能性已经得到初步的验证.作为超越西方主流国际关系理论的新生事物,它必将具有强大的生命力.
