The power pool mechanism is used as a market-oriented trading pattern in the cross-regional power trade for the northwest power grid. To evaluate objectively and quantitatively the performance and trend of the operation of sending power from the northwest grid, the main component analysis method is adopted in the comprehensive performance evaluation. Through analysis on empirical cases, it is found that after years of constant development and improvement, the overall performance of the northwest grid has been increasing gradually.
