With the fast development of modern medical science, the importance of medical journals becomes more and more prominent, and most of the medical staffs get to know the scientific dynamic and cutting-edge knowledge of their major through medical journals, so high quality of medical journals is necessary. The knowledge structure and professional accom-plishment of general editor workers are the key to ensure medical journals. As an excellent medical journal editor, one should pos-sess not only longitudinal medical professional knowledge but al-so all kinds of lateral knowledge associated with medical knowl-edge and have a comprehensive system of knowledge structure. Through years of work experience, the author put forward her own opinion that medical journal editors should have the longitudinal and lateral knowledge and literacy.
