Recently, volunteer service develops fast around the world, including in China, even it developed late in China, but it is developing energetically. However, many problems also advent. This paper compares the motivation of volunteer service between Chinese and American, hoping to get some implications.% 近年来，志愿者服务在全世界范围内都有着长足的发展，我国虽然开展志愿服务的时间较晚但发展势头迅猛，而随着志愿者活动的发展有些问题也暴露了出来，如志愿服务的盲目性、功利性及无创新性等。本文关注中美志愿服务的动员机制之比较，以期从比较中得到启示，提出未来我国志愿服务在动员机制上的建议。
