The increasing proportion of heavy crude oil which contains excess sulphide and acid and the high frequency of changing crude oil varieties,will lead to a great impact on electric desalting device. Only by inventing new electric desalting process unit,selecting the optimum process conditions,using efficient desalting accessory ingredient, ect. can we get dewatering and desalting crude oil which is qualified. The principle of electro-desalting,the electrode forms of the device,the various process factor which influences desalting effect and some new technology of electro-desalting have been discussed.
