From the system efficiency formula derivation, the influential factors of system efficiency were considered. It illustrated that system efficiency depended on the accuracy of selecting electrical submersible pump. The relationship of system efficiency and parameters of oil well is analyzed mainly to guide selecting wells and pumps, and some measures are proposed to enhance the system efficiency of ESP. From the example, it indicates that the system efficiency can be raised remarkably by selecting pump discharge and effective head reasonably.
