By use of literature, expert interviews, mathematical statistics and comprehensive analysis,distribution of the number of Olympic medals for the seven geographical units was analyzed. The results show that the distribution of Olympic medals is extremely uneven, some individual province winning 49 medals while some none. The distribution within the 7 geographical units is obviously different, which is influenced by the geographical culture and geographical features. The number of Olympic medals is statistically related with the GDP of each geographical unit, namely the less the Olympic medals, the economically backward the region ,and vice versa. The number of medals is not proportional to the population, but has certain relationship with the economic conditions of each province.%运用文献资料法、专家访谈法、数理统计法、综合分析法等，对七大地域单元的奥运奖牌数分布进行纵向比较和横向分析研究，得出：1）奥运奖牌在我国各个省份分布极其不均衡，个别省份获得49枚奖牌之多，然而有几个省份没有奥运奖牌。2）奥运奖牌数在七大地域单元内分布具有明显的差异性，这种差异性受到该地域的传统文化和地域地理特征的影响。，3）奥运奖牌获多少与各个地域的GDP数有着显著的统计学关系，即奥运奖牌的数量越少的地域，其经济发展水平相对落后；反之，经济发展水平较高的地域，其奥运奖牌数相对较多。4）奥运奖牌的数量与各个省份人口多少不完全正比，与各个省份的经济情况呈现一定的关系。
