Combining with our current design code,through the design calculation example of a basement retaining wall,researched the value problems of towards soil surface concrete protection layer of basement concrete retaining wall design,elaborated the internal force calculation, bearing capacity calculation and cracks checking computation process,finally gave some suggestions value of towards soil surface concrete protec-tion layer of retaining wall.%结合国内现行设计规范，通过某地下室挡土墙设计算例，对地下室混凝土挡土墙设计时迎土面混凝土保护层的取值问题进行了研究，并对内力计算、承载力计算及裂缝验算过程进行了阐述，最终给出了挡土墙迎土面混凝土保护层的建议值。
