The paper uses worked examples to compare the procedure and results to check steel compression member per EC3 and GB 50017—2003 separately. The results show that the clauses on steel compression member in GB 50017—2003 are conservative than those in EC3. STAAD design results per EC3 are also checked. It shows that the results come from STAAD are good.%结合具体算例，对欧洲钢结构规范（EC3）和现行中国钢结构规范（GB 50017—2003）关于轴心受压构件的计算过程和结果进行了较为详细的对比，计算结果表明，关于轴心受力的计算，GB 50017—2003比 EC3的要略为保守，验证了 STAAD 软件在欧洲规范中关于轴心受力构件的验算结果基本可信。
