Taking one Wuhan community as an example,the paper calculates the rainwater storage basin volume with simple formula methods and computer simulation method. The calculation results show that:the effective rainwater storage basin volume calculated with simple formula is bigger,with longer investment fund recycling duration and lower economy,while the effective rainwater storage basin volume calculated with minimum investment duration is smaller with lower utilization ratio and reducing rainwater supply guarantee ratio,which can effectively improve the economy of rainwater utilization engineering.%以武汉市某小区为例，分别采用简单公式法和计算机逐日模拟法进行雨水蓄水池容积的计算，计算结果表明，采用简单公式计算得出的雨水蓄水池有效容积较大，投资回收期较长，不符合经济性最优；用最短投资回收期确定的雨水蓄水池容积较小，但雨水的利用率较低；降低雨水供水保证率，可有效提高雨水利用工程的经济性。
