This paper analyzed the construction characteristics of traditional houses in North and South China,taking the regional culture charac-teristics of traditional houses in North and South as the foothold,explored the differences between the traditional residential buildings in North and south,and made discussion from the new residential buildings inside and outside design,provided reference for the research and develop-ment of residential.%对中国南方与北方传统民居的建筑特点进行了分析，以南北传统民居的地域文化特征为落脚点，探讨了南北传统民居差异性，并对由内向外设计的新民居建筑作了论述，为民居建筑的发展与研究提供参考。
