This paper preliminarily explores pile foundation selection under various engineering geological conditions in western Sichuan region,and summarizes engineering geological conditions of three kinds of pile foundations in this region,makes a comparison on the adaptability,economy and construction period etc,and illustrates some matters needing attention in the design of pile foundation,with a view to guide practice.%对川西地区各种工程地质条件下桩基础的选择做了初步探讨,总结了该地区需要使用桩基础的三种不同类型的工程地质条件,对适应性、经济性、施工周期等进行了对比,并举例说明了桩基设计中需要注意的一些问题,以指导实践。
