This paper introduces and classfies the current residence for the elderly abroad. It has made a more objective analysis and appraisal on them. After summarizing the characteristics of various types of residence for the elderly, it puts forward the development trend of design and construction of the elderly＇ s residence, with an expection to provide guide for our country＇ s senior people＇ s residence development.%对国外现有的老年住宅形式进行了介绍和分类，并作了较为客观的分析和评价，概括出各类型住宅的特点，并指出了老年住宅设计建设的发展动向，以期为我国老年住宅的发展提供指导。
