@@ The story goes back to the early time of 1945, a very cold winter in Germany. The temperature of Munich and its vicinities dropped to 20 degree of frost and it was snowing heavily. German army was suffering defeat on both eastern and western fronts. The bombers of the Allied Army bombed almost all German cities and towns, with 80% of the cities being destroyed. American army would soon liberate the Dachau, a city near Munich. SS-troops,with jail prisoners under their escort, retreated to Bad Tolz. A branch of Munchen-Schwabing Municipal Hospital happened to be in the city. Many wounded, among them were children and elderly persons, were brought to there to shelter from the bombing in Munich. First affected were the patients in the Department of Surgery of the hospital. The director of the department then was Prof. Bronner. Apart from patients in Bad Tolz, he had to take care of those scattered in other places. When he was away, his work was handled by a young deputy-director,Dr. Qiu Fazu.
