Embarking from the basic contradiction of capitalism, Paul Burkett analyzed two kinds of environmental crises arising in the capital accumulation and in the development of human society;and on the basis of the criticism of Ma-rx′s view of nature by ecological critics, he pointed out the implied ecological thoughts of Marx′s historical materialism, holding that the communism was conform to ecology, and it was the overall development of people and the sustainable devel-opment of the society. Paul Burkett′s concept of ecological Marxism has confirmed that Marx′s theory does contain ecologi-cal thoughts and it has reference significance to China′s ecological civilization construction.%保罗·柏格特从资本主义的基本矛盾出发，分析了资本积累和人类社会发展两个层面的环境危机，在此基础上针对生态批评家对马克思的自然观的批评，提出马克思的历史唯物主义内涵生态思想，认为共产主义社会是符合生态的、是人的全面自由发展和可持续发展的社会。柏格特的生态学马克思主义不仅论证了马克思的理论蕴涵生态思想，而且给中国生态文明建设提供了借鉴。
