黑格尔有关＂精神＂的阐释告诉我们,精神是绝对对立的统一,是个体性与实体性的统一,其本质是自由。伦理精神实质上指的就是这样一种自由的概念。但在中西方文化语境中的自由却有着不同的含义,而此种对自由的理解偏差就是由于中西方伦理精神在文化传统与文化设计上的殊异而导致的。由血缘与情感、地缘与理性构成的中西方文化殊异也直接影响了中西方不同的伦理精神文化走向———一个创制了民主、自由与法制的理性王国,而另一个则致力于建构和谐的伦理社会实体。%Hegel interpreted ＂spirit＂ as the unity of absolute opposites,the unity of individual and entity,and the freedom in essence.Ethical spirit is essentially such a kind of freedom.But freedom,in cultural context,contains different ideas in Chinese and western cultures,which results from the differences in ethical spirit due to the differences in cultural traditions and designs.The composition differences of Chinese and western cultures,one being consanguinity and sensibility,the other being geographical relationship and rationality,directly influence the cultural trend of ethical spirit—— one has created a legal and rational kingdom of democracy and freedom,the other is committed to building a harmonious society of ethical entity.
