The VPN is a specific technology which can help building private network on a public one .It combines the cheap and convenient features of public network and the security and secrecy of private network .The VPN can satisfy the re-quirement of remote secure communication of users .This paper discussed the application of VPN in information security , analysed the possibility of constructing a secure communication platform based on VPN ,built an experiment environment including 10 nodes that are far away from each other ,and did some test of the network performance .%虚拟专用网络（Virtual Private Network ，VPN）是一种在公有网络之上架构专有网络的技术，它将公有网络的便捷低廉和专有网络的安全保密特性有机集合，满足了用户进行远程安全通信的需求。讨论了V PN在信息安全方面的应用，分析了基于该技术构建安全通信平台的可能性，搭建了一个5地10节点的试验环境，并在此基础上对网络性能进行了测试。
