When Le Corbusier received more appreciation as a "legend" of architect, he is also labeled by "La faute à Corbu" (The Corbu-style Failure). Between the two points of view, how can we find the balance point for understanding Le Corbusier's conceptions and forms. This research attempted to explore a part of this question, and chose to observe one of the most special stages of evolution in his life (1917~1933): metamorphosis from Jeanneret leaving La Chaux-de-Fonds to young Le Corbusier of Paris. This metamorphosis needed not only the opportunity of the times, but also the power of a special personality. During this period Le Corbusier came to form his complete personality of architect, painter, and writer.
