According to the data statistic published by Guangzhou police on 25th June, 2016, there are 77,000 foreigners living in Guangzhou in total, including around 11,000 Africans. Some locals associate Africans with poverty, crime, fraud and homelessness. However, in fact, some Africans in Guangzhou are well-educated people, who mainly engage in business and other variable fields. They pursue the Chinese Dream economically and culturally together with the locals so that they are the indispensable part of the development process in Guangzhou. In spite of the cultural gap, the Africans are able to get on well with the Guangzhou locals. This paper does not only aim at analysing the daily life, business and education of the Africans in Guangzhou, but also the chances and challenges they are facing. Besides, it is to study how the Africans and the locals peacefully build up the Chocolate City, and to put forward some suggestions.%据广州警方在2016年6月25日发布的数据统计,广州全市共有在住外国人七万七千人,其中包括约一万一千实际在穗的非洲人员.有一些本地人看到非洲人就联想到贫穷、罪恶、欺诈和无家可归等概念,但事实上,在穗的非洲人当中不乏高学历者,他们在广州主要从事商业活动,同时也用踊跃于其它多种行业,和本地人一起从经济、文化上追求着"中国梦",是广州城市发展进程中不可或缺的部分.尽管有文化隔阂,非洲人也能够与广州本地人和平相处.本论文旨在分析非洲人在广州的生活、事业、教育,以及他们所面临的机遇和挑战,研究非洲人与广州本地人如何和谐铸造一座"巧克力城",总结并提出相关建议.
