Characteristic database is an important part of the database construction. Through the investigation and analysis, this paper introduces the construction situation of characteristic database in the provincial libraries of China’s northwestern five provinces, analyzes and sums up the existing problems of characteristic database and puts forward the suggestions to the construction of characteristic database of public libraries.%特色数据库是数据库建设的一个重要构成部分。通过网络调查研究，介绍西北五省省级公共图书馆中特色数据库的建设现状，分析并总结特色数据库存在的问题，并对公共图书馆特色数据库建设提出建议。
