It is difficult to treat intestinal failure which has high mortality rate always leads to multiple organ dysfunction syndrome ( MODS) .Research on prevention of intestinal failure has become an important research topic in the field of medicine at present .The limitations exist in modern medical treatment , but researches of traditional Chinese medicine have lots of advantages .In recent years , the treatment of intestinal failure by traditional Chinese medicine has made great progress .The author mainly discusses the new progress of traditional Chinese medicine treating intestinal failure .%肠功能衰竭治疗困难，死亡率较高，最终导致多器官功能障碍综合征。肠衰竭的防治研究已成为当前医学领域中的一个重要研究课题。现代医学治疗存在其局限性，而中医研究颇有优势。近年来中医治疗肠衰竭取得了明显进展，作者将主要探讨肠衰竭的中医药治疗新进展。
