Objective ] To explore the causes of common complications and to improve safety and success ratio in placingbout riate cation Intrauterine Device (IUD) .[Method] Through statistical analysis of Ultrasonic examination on 14 ,926 women with IUD ,we explored causes of complications from IUD .The best time to place IUD ,selection of approporiate IUD and impor-tance of periodically examination were analyzed and evaluated .[Result] Among these 14 ,926 cases ,13 ,508 cases (90 .5% ) were normal and effective .1 ,418 cases (9.5% ) were abnormal of which 1 ,140 cases (80.4% ) with downward movement , 275 cases (19 ,4% ) incarceration in uterine wall ,3 cases (0.2% ) with misplacement outside of uterus and 99 cases (6.6% ) pregnancy with IUD .[Conclusion] In clinic practice ,the selection of IUD and time of setting IUD should be based on specific conditions of women of child-bearing age .After setting IUD patients should be examined periodically to detect any abnormal IUD in early stage ,get treatment on time and reduce the complications from the IUD eventually .%目的：探讨放置宫内节育器（IUD ）常见并发症发生的原因，提高IUD放置的安全性及成功率。方法：通过对14926例放置IUD妇女的超声随访，对出现IUD并发症的原因进行分析，指出放置IUD的最佳时间、选择适宜的IUD和定期检查的重要性。结果：14926例放置 IUD对象中，IUD正常者13508例（90.5％）；IUD异常者1418例（9.5％） ，其中下移为1140例（80.4％） ，嵌顿275例（19.4％） ，子宫外异位3例（0.2％）；带器妊娠99例（6.6％）。结论：临床应根据育龄妇女的具体情况选择适宜的IUD及放置时间，置器后应定期随访，及时发现IUD异常情况，及时处理，减少IUD并发症。
