Those following the issues of sustain-ability in textiles and fashion will be familiar with Kate Fletcher, whose 2008 book, Sustainable Fashion & Textiles, has been standard reading. Fletcher has now co-authored Fashion and Sustainability: Design for Change with Lynda Grose. The relationship between the two books is not clear: they cover similar ground, but not similar enough for this latest one to be regarded as a second edition. If you have the first book, it's worth buying this one, simply because the field is changing so rapidly. The books have in common a format that is rich with illustrations of designs that seek to meet the challenges of sustainability in many different ways.
