Differential scanning calorimetry, thermal gra-vimentric analysis, and other thermal analysis techniques are commonly used for the characterization of commercial textile fibers. DSC and TGA are used for the identification and differentiation of the different fibers by measuring their physical properties such as thermal stability, thermal-oxi-dative stability, melting point, glass transition, and crystallization temperature.
