Seshadri Ramkumar, associate professor with the Institute of Environmental and Human Health at Texas Tech University, will receive the Innovation in Technology Award for invention of Fibertect, a non-woven fabric made of cotton and carbon that soaks up 15 times its weight in oil. Cotton Incorporated recognized Fibertect as one of the top seven cotton innovations in 2010. An AATCC member since 1999, Ramkumar is actively involved in AATCC committee work.
