The National Textile Center (NTC) is a government-funded (at least for now) consortium of eight universities sharing resources for research serving the US fiber, textile, fiber products, and retail complex. The group recently hosted its 16th annual Forum at AATCC's Advances in Colorants, chemicals, finishes, and Fibrous Materials Symposium in Greenville, S.C., USA to share the work of its members. One of the Forum's attendees is very familiar with the consortium's work. Joe Cunning is hailed by many as the "grandfather of NTC." He's not so sure about that title. "I'm a grandfather," he says, "but to my three-year-old grandson." Grandfather or not, Cunning was instrumental in the formation of the consortium.
